Look at What My Son Had in His Pocket

by Kitty on September 17, 2008

I refer to my 4th child as the "All-American Boy". He is 5 years old and loves Matchbox Cars, action figures, sports, all the things boys loved to do before video games (actually play with the other toys you bought).  He is almost always carrying something in his pockets. On vacation it was seashells, outside it's rocks at the store he was carrying one of his action figures and I took it to put in his pocket. He said, "not that one it's full!"

Recently, he was running through the family room and his right side of his pants were hanging down, obviously the pocket was very full, and he was "jingling". I looked up and giggled, thought nothing of it. A few minutes later he was on the kitchen floor empting his pocket, change was rolling all over. I am working on the computer at the kitchen table not really paying attention and then it go quiet. He was totally engrossed in what he was doing.

I'm Rich in My World

Finally he says, "You know mom (pause) I am rich in my world!"

I looked up and see that he had collected his money and had it all organized on the floor. For once, I am speechless. I said "Yea, I guess you are, huh!" Moments like these are priceless and they go by so quickly I just had to share this with everyone.
