October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month – Enter the Pink Together Giveaway
I am sure you are aware that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, unfortunately most of us have been affected either directly or indirectly by this disease. MyBlogSpark and Pink Together sent me information about an online community on MySpace, where those touched by breast cancer can share hope and provide support, comfort, and encouragement to one another.
The community is part of Pink Together, which is a national campaign supporting those impacted by breast cancer and helps raise awareness of the disease. General Mills is donating $2 million to Susan G. Komen for the Cure and is turning the packaging pink on an assortment of its most beloved brands in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. General Mills will also donate $1, up to $20,000, each time you post a comment of encouragement, send a virtual flower bouquet or share a story on PinkTogether.com in October. Please take a moment to read a few of these incredibly touching stories.

I found the women who have told their stories on the Pink Together website to be very inspirational. Many have been diagnosed with breast cancer at a very young age (in their 20’s and 30’s) and have overcome huge obstacles. You can send e-flowers to women who have survived cancer on the website as well.

I NEVER heard her complain ans I ALWAYS got what I needed. I hope my children are going to remember me like that!

My mom and my grandmom are the two women who inspire me the most… while I lost my grandmom at 91 in April, I am proud to have been part of her life. Both are women with exceptionally strong spirits and have a typical resilient New England aura about them. Life is hard, but it doesn’t have to be bad. I try to be like them, and in some ways I am…but in some ways I am not.
