I made going to school fun by making a “fun” lunch. I will use cookie cutters to make her sandwich as animals, shoes or princess items. She loves them.
I twittered and facebooked with the link!
Those are the cutest cookies ever!
My kids love to shop for school supplies. I like to shop after school starts to get bargains for the next year. For about the first two weeks I sit with them and let them tell me all about their day. After that we have a round table discussion at the dinner table about everyone’s day.
I always start the year out with a family meeting. We talk about what their teachers expect from them, what I expect from them, and what they hope to learn this year. One problem I always have with them is when they forget to go through their paperwork. I tell them that this is their responsibility and they always say it is mine:(
