Hi Kathi, Unfortunately in today's economy we are seeing stores and restaurants come and go quickly in some areas. Restaurant[dot] com will gladly offer you another coupon. I read it in their terms of service so just drop them an email and they will replace your coupon.

When restaurants go out of business I am sure they don't ever contact the companies they are advertising with to let them know so I think this is probably just an oversight.

Hope that helps! Kitty

I purchased my first ever restaurant.com coupon after signing up on your website and was very excited. Then I went to the restaurant about a month later 3 different times and each time there is a big sign on the door saying CLOSED. I have tried to call the restaurant and the phone just rings. It is FAT Jack's in Clementon NJ and I am unable to determine the scoop. If the restaurant is closed, how is it they can sell coupons to their restaurant???? I feel very cheated and this is fraud. Thank you for your assistance.

Hi Julie, On the example I gave you the total bill was $50, then they would add your tip for you of $9. Your total is now $59, the waiter will then deduct the gift certificate of $25 and you will get a bill for $34 which is the amount you now owe after certificate is deducted.

You wouldn't need to tip additional if you didn't want to because they added it in.

Some of the certificates are $25 off $35 which is an even better deal!

Oh okay, I think I got it.. in a case where the bill came out to $35 and i had a $50 gift card, can I pay the total ( food+gratuity ) with the gift card as well or do I have to tip separately?

Hi Julie,

The gratuity should always be figured before any coupon is deducted. If a restaurant states a specific percentage (in this case 18%), it means they will figure and ADD the tip to the bill for you.

i.e: The bill is $50 (before coupon), the tip would be figured at 18% of $50 = $9

The NEW total would be $59 - 25 (gift certificate) = $34 (what you end up paying for the meal)

Make sense? If not, let me know

Hi Kitty,

I was just going to ask you about the gratuity part. It mentioned that "18% gratuity added to pre-discounted check amount." What do they mean by that? I'm confused since it's my first time trying out restaurants.com deal.

Hi Adriane, You can buy them now if you want or you can wait because they are good for a year after purchase date. The specials on this offer vary from 50% Off to 80% off so you can just keep an eye on the sales and buy them closer to your move date. They will probably run another special of $3 or even $2 for the certificates again before June!

Good Luck with your move! Kitty

I want to get in on this deal but there are no participating rest. in Hawaii. We are military and moving to FL in June. Should I get them now and save them? Will they still be good for the rest of the year?
Thanks
