Look What $1.91 Bought Me at Walgreens!

by Kitty on October 3, 2008

I was so upset when I got the e-mail from Walgreens for the $5 off $20 printable coupon because I had already gone to Walgreens this week and purchased the Easy Saver Rebate items. I carefully, examined this week's ad for items that A.) I needed and B.) Came as close to the $20 benchmark as possible.

I had my coupon printed, my manufacturer's coupons gathered (with back ups in case they were out of something), and I headed out to Walgreens. I was so amazed when the cashier announced my total $1.91!!! I was jumping, the cashier was jumping it was exciting.

So here's what I got and the coupons I used (in case you need some ideas):

  • 2 - Bottles of the Febreze Fabric Refresher ($4.99 x 2)
  • 1 - Febreze Noticeable ($6.99)
  • 1 - Oral B Cross Action Toothbrush ($4.49)

I had the following coupons:

  • B1G1 Free on the Febreze Fabric Refresher ($4.99 value) from the P&G insert
  • $5 off a Febreze Noticeable Starter Kit from the P&G insert
  • $.75 off Oral B manual toothbrush which I think was also from the P&G insert
  • $5 off $20 printable coupon from Walgreens (some people have mentioned that the total was supposed to be 20 after coupons - I have to admit that I did not read the coupon, I thought it was like the CVS coupon. Your Walgreens may not let you use the coupon this way. It is still a great deal w/o that coupon!)

OH, and I forgot to mention...I paid $1.91 but then the Register Rewards printed out from items in this week's ad and I got coupons for $3.00 off any purchase (for buying 3 Febreze items) and $4.50 off any purchase (for buying the Oral B Toothbrush).

So it really ended up being a money-maker of sorts. I made $5.59 for shopping at Walgreens today - I love days like this! Did you score big with your coupon? Let us know what you got and how you did it! Thanks for sharing.
