Where does a Coupon Diva find grocery coupons? I use a combination of resources to get my coupons and I will share those with you over the next 2 weeks. As prices continue to rise and people are doing everything they can to save money, using coupons is becoming increasingly more popular.
Tip #1 will seem obvious to some of you, it is the Newspaper. There are several coupon inserts in the Sunday paper each week. The first week of the new year there were 5 inserts! One coupon alone was for $2.50 off Electrasol which more than paid for the price of the paper. Some of the coupon companies include: Smart Source, Red Plum (Valassis) and Procter and Gamble.
There are several sites where you can get a sneak peak at what the coupons will be so you can make sure it is worth buying the paper. One site I have visited a few times is Taylor Town Preview.
Another tip for the Sunday paper is to make sure you go through the entire newspaper. Sometimes there are coupons in the Parade insert as well as coupons in the miscellaneous sections for restaurants in your area.
Some of my other tips include:
- If there are several really good inserts, buy more than 1 paper. As I said before, many times 1 coupon pays for the cost of the paper.
- Be sure to check around with the stores that sell the Sunday paper because some stores will sell the leftovers the following Monday for up to 50% off!
- Another clever way to get extra coupons is to simply ask the stores you normally shop in if you can take the Sunday coupon inserts from their leftovers. Many newspapers only require the stores to return the front page of the paper to receive credit back – the rest goes in the trash anyways!
You can grab the Sunday paper every week at many grocery and drugstores or sometimes you can get an even better deal by subscribing to home delivery. I only pay $13/month for 7 day a week delivery. Check out Discount Newspapers for rates/newspapers available in your area!
