Eating Right Kids from Safeway and Warner Bros. Review and Giveaway
Safeway and Warner Bros.' Looney Tunes have teamed up to create Eating Right Products which I had an opportunity to try thanks to Team Mom and Safeway. I received a kit containing a thermal lunch bag, a container of Raviolis for kids, a container of Kids Mixed Fruit Cups, a Mixed Berry Milk Chocolate Chewy Bar, and a container of Kids 100% Apple Juice.

My kids were funny, they divided up the food and each ate something. My son loved the apple juice. They tried the raviolis, but are not normal fans of cheese raviolis so they didn't finish. My 10 year old daughter said she would have liked them more if they had meat inside. Of course, the chewy bar was a hit.

The Eating Right Kids features more than 60 items across 18 categories which include: breakfast foods, produce, portable meals, dairy, snacks, beverages, and frozen entrees. The line is carried at Safeway locations throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Eating Right Kids is not only tasty, but a better choice for children. Unfortunately, we do not have Safeway by us but I would definitely consider many of their products as I think my kids would enjoy eating them in their lunches and I would feel like they are eating better.

Create fruit designs that look like characters or faces. Using a pineapple is easiest to put in sticks for arms and legs and then other small pieces of fruit for the eyes, nose, lips, etc.

I got my grandchildren to eat right by teaching them when they were just eating people food to eat veggies, fruit and never to over eat. Small portions are better and then you can snack in between meals and feel good about it. I keep fruit and veggies in a bowl on the counter and they always walk by and grab something.

We try to get our kids to eat right by getting them to try new items. We have a simple rule, that each item on thier plates, must be tried out and a few bites taken out of it. (no itty bitty bites count). we find that after our kids try the same item a few times, that they do start to like it.
Thanks so much. What a cute prize.

I guess the easiest things I do is have them shop, talk about it, we search out recipes to try and make together if they are old enough. When they were younger I would grind up the vegetables and mix it in cake mix and muffins but no longer have to do that as they want to try spaghetti squash, etc

I’ve always made veggies and other healthy sides the main portions of the meal, and they always thought eating veggies and other healthy foods for meals was the normal thing to do. I always keep a variety of healthy foods around, and I never assume they’ll dislike something because it’s something most kids seem to dislike.

The best way to get kids to eat healthy is to set a good example and start them early. If you want them to try something new, don’t give it to them, eat it yourself and when they ask about it or say they want some, allow them to have some with great reluctance. Works like a voodoo charm.

I don’t have that hard of a time getting my kids to eat healthy because I keep mostly only healthy foods in the house. They do get treats sometimes but they know proper snacks and that they have to have a balanced dinner before asking for a dessert treat like a small scoop of ice cream. Everything in moderation is what we stress.

I would never make my children eat anything that they do not like.
But in our home we cook a new and healthy dish each week.
Each person is required to take one taste. If they don’t like it they are free to spit it out and don’t ever have to even taste it again.
You would be surprised how many things that my children have found that they love that they would have never tasted otherwise. Such as Zucchini soup and Broccoli Soup.
Thank you so much for the chance to win.

I have found that precut/cleaned fruits and veggies are more likely to be eaten as snacks than if they were required to do the work themselves. I put them in plastic baggies in snack size quantities. They know to reuse the baggies, so it’s really cost effective and healthy too!

Getting my family of 5 to eat healthy is always a challenge. When my six year old asks for a between meals treat, he already knows the answer. “Sure you can have some potato chips, just go eat a fresh fruit or veggie snack from the frig first.” He knows if he wants a handful of chips, then he needs to eat a hadnful of carrots first… It works!

One thing I do is keep fresh fruit readily available to them. I keep a bowl on our kitchen table or island, plus I keep a bowl in the family room.
