How I Bought $20 in Merchandise for $4 at Walgreens!

Posted on by

Here we are for another wonderful Edition of “Coupon Divas Teach Me Tuesday”, with Kitty (that’s me!). Today we went to Walgreens to take advantage of some of the sale items using the Coupon Match Up we did using Sunday’s Ad.

Update 1/19/10: A few people have commented that companies have reduced the value of the coupons for this offer already today. Hopefully some of you were able to get these printed before the change!

I had intended on making 3 separate purchases, but alas, my plans were foiled when I found they were sold out of one of the items. This happens from time to time and you roll with it. I was still able to purchase an amazing $20 in merchandise for right around $4! I made 2 separate purchases and each receipt says my total advertised and coupon savings were right around $15 (for a total of $30 in savings off the regular prices!).

My 10 Year Old is taping so if it feels like I am looking down a lot – I am! (and don’t make fun of my hair or the bags under my eyes – I am out of Red Bull – LOL!)

Here’s Purchase #1:
Bought (2) Neosporin Lip Health (Sale Price: 2 for $8)
Less: $3 Off Printable Coupon (use 2) (it has been reported that the coupon is now chg’d to $1 off)
Here are links to the coupons for those who didn’t print 2: HERE (FF) or HERE (IE)
You Get Back: $3 Register Reward wyb 2
Bought (1) Revlon Haircolor (Sale Price: $1.99 w/ in-ad coupon)
Bought (1) Pk. of Warheads (this was a filler item – my daughter was with me – LOL)
After deducting the Coupons and 1 Register Reward I already had my TOTAL Out of Pocket was $3.09.
I Got Back: $3 in Register Rewards (from Neosporin)

Purchase #2:
Bought (2) Wet Ones Antibacterial Wipes, 40 pack (Sale Price: 2 for $4)
Used: $1.50 Printable Coupon (use 2 – It has been reported that they have chg’d the value to $.75 Off)
You Get Back: $1 Register Reward wyb 2
Bought (2) bottles Bayer Aspirin (Sale Priced 2 for $3 w/ in-ad coupon)
Used: (2) $1 Off Mfg. Coupon  SS 1/03 (look for tear pads as well)
Bought (2) pks of Wrigley gum (I did my math wrong and I was a penny short – therefore the second pk of gum!)

After deducting the Coupons and 1 Register Reward from the purchase I just made, my TOTAL Out of Pocket was $1.34!

So all in all I salvaged my deals and paid just $4.43 OOP for $20 in merchandise. My fillers are usually always mints or gum because these are things I always like to have in my purse. You can choose whatever you want if you find yourself in need of an extra item.

I am still going to try and find the Theraflu because it ends up being free after coupons, you can check that deal out on the Walgreens Coupon Match Up FOUND HERE.
